A zipcode shows as serviceable on a product where it shouldn’t — even though it’s not in that product’s whitelist? Nine times out of ten, that zipcode lives in a rule that’s assigned to all products, which makes it valid everywhere.
- Go to Settings → Assign Zipcode Rule → Show Assignment and review your assignments.
- Look for any rule assigned via Apply To All Products. Every zipcode in that rule counts as serviceable on every product in your store — so it will override what you expect on individual products.
- Open that rule and check whether it contains the zipcode in question. If it does, either remove that zipcode from the all-products rule, or reassign the rule to only the specific collections/products it should cover.
- If you legitimately need overlapping rules, use Priority on the rule (set in Settings → Create Zipcode Rule) — when a zipcode falls under multiple rules, the highest-priority rule wins.
Why: “Apply To All Products” is a store-wide grant. It’s easy to forget an old all-products rule is still active and quietly making codes serviceable.
