Turning this on is handy, but it changes checkout behavior in a way worth knowing before you flip it.
What it does: Set General Settings → Global → Pre-select Delivery Date to Enabled and the widget auto-selects the first available date and shows the time slots immediately — the customer doesn’t have to open the calendar. (By default, time slots only appear after a date is chosen; Pre-select is what surfaces them upfront.)
The trade-off: Because a date is already selected, the customer can check out on that default date without ever actively choosing one. That can produce orders carrying an unexpected/default date.
So which should you use?
| Your goal | Setting |
|---|---|
| Customers must actively pick a date | Pre-select = No + Delivery Date Required = Yes |
| Speed/convenience, a default date is fine | Pre-select = Yes |
| A PayPal/express button you can’t remove | Pre-select = Yes (at least captures a default) |
