If visitors to one of your stores get sent to another store automatically — without ever seeing the choose-store popup — that store is set to Force Redirection. Switching it to Show Popup gives visitors the choice instead.
- Go to General Configuration and find the redirection mode. There are three options:
- Show Popup — displays a popup so users can accept or decline the redirect.
- Force Redirection — automatically redirects users, with no popup. This is what causes the “it redirects me without asking” behavior.
- Disable Geo Redirection — turns off automatic redirection entirely.
- For the store/rule that’s redirecting silently, change the mode from Force Redirection to Show Popup and save.
- Test it: visit that store and confirm you now get the popup with the option to switch stores.
Why this happens: Force Redirection is working exactly as designed — it’s meant to move traffic automatically. It’s simply not the mode you want if you’d rather let visitors choose.
