Why Is My Store Auto-Redirecting With No Popup?

If visitors to one of your stores get sent to another store automatically — without ever seeing the choose-store popup — that store is set to Force Redirection. Switching it to Show Popup gives visitors the choice instead.

  1. Go to General Configuration and find the redirection mode. There are three options:
    • Show Popup — displays a popup so users can accept or decline the redirect.
    • Force Redirection — automatically redirects users, with no popup. This is what causes the “it redirects me without asking” behavior.
    • Disable Geo Redirection — turns off automatic redirection entirely.
  2. For the store/rule that’s redirecting silently, change the mode from Force Redirection to Show Popup and save.
  3. Test it: visit that store and confirm you now get the popup with the option to switch stores.

Why this happens: Force Redirection is working exactly as designed — it’s meant to move traffic automatically. It’s simply not the mode you want if you’d rather let visitors choose.
